How we check reviews

Who can write a review

After delivery, customers may receive an e-mail with a link to review the products in their order. Customers can also review a product they bought from the account they ordered with. KOCOA staff, brands and suppliers cannot write reviews. Our affiliate partners can; their reviews are marked "KOCOA affiliate partner" (they earn commission on sales they refer) and earn no points.

What we publish

We publish every review, positive or negative, unless one of the exclusions below applies. We never edit a review: we publish it as it was written or exclude it as a whole. We may correct the language label if it names the wrong language.

When we exclude a review

We exclude a whole review, whatever its rating, if it:

• names a disease or a medical skin condition (such as acne, eczema, rosacea or dermatitis), or claims a treatment or cure
• names another brand
• makes an environmental claim
• is unlawful or abusive
• contains contact details or other personal data, such as another person's name
• is not about the product

Reward points

Customers with a KOCOA account receive 300 reward points (EUR 3) for each review we publish, positive or negative. The rating, tone and length of a review never affect the points or whether we publish it. Reviews that earned points are marked on the product page. Points are given only when the review is written from, or linked to, a KOCOA account at the time it is submitted. We take the points back if the order is withdrawn or refunded, if the product is returned, or if a published review is later excluded under the rules above; never because of the rating or the opinion a review gives about the product. If you ask us to remove your review, you keep the points.

Order and average rating

Reviews are shown newest first. The average rating is the plain mean of the ratings of all published reviews, with and without reward points, rounded to one decimal.

Language

Reviews are shown in the language they were written in, with a label naming that language. We do not translate them.

Your data

We show the name you entered, your rating and text, your skin type and location if you gave them, the review's language and its date. Our privacy policy explains how we handle this data and how to have a review removed.
